Puntarenas Itinerary

Puntarenas
The Puntarenas is known as "The pearl of the Pacific".
Puntarenas is one of the most important tourism regions in Costa Rica. Its coastline is full of islands, inlets, beaches, and very beautiful natural treasures, all which make it an excellent tourist destination. Within its tourism locales you can find a variety of hotels and traditional cabins close to the ocean as well as all-inclusive lodging facilities. It's about 1 hour and 31 minutes away from San Jose.
The primary attraction is the Monteverde Biological Reserve, however there are many other nature sites, picturesque trails, hanging bridges, as well as butterfly and frog exhibits.
The flourishing seaside town is also a gateway to Nicoya Peninsula beaches of Montezuma and Mal Pais. Visitors can enjoy a walk down the breezy boardwalk while waiting for the next ferry to the Nicoya Peninsula. The Puntarenas boardwalk, named the Paseo de los Turistas, is a mile-long beachfront stretch ideal for walking, jogging, or just relaxing on a bench. Sunsets on the boardwalk are lovely with terrific views across the Gulf of Nicoya.
Jaco offers you the chance to experience the Central Pacific coast with its stunning mountainous shorelines. On the other hand, it is famous among surfers for having the best waves. Not only that, but it is also famous for lush jungles. Jaco Beach is known for its stunning black sand and prime surfing conditions. Experienced surfers can take a short drive from Jaco Beach to Hermosa, which is the site of several international surfing championships and boasts some of the best waves in the region.
Puntarenas is an easily accessible jump-off spot for lots of different activities, making it a good home base for your Costa Rican adventures.
Discover the wondrous wildlife and rainforests of Costa Rica by way of foot, zipline, and riverboat. You may also choose to entertain your senses with trips to haciendas, unique shopping areas, or a coffee and butterfly garden.
