San Jose Itinerary

San José

Costa Rica’s capital, San José, is in the Central Valley. Surrounded by lush green mountains and valleys, San Jose is a city with historical significance with outstanding architectural buildings, museums, art galleries, and parks.

San José has a tropical wet and dry climate. San Jose and the central valley have some of the most pleasant weather in the world, with average daily temperatures of 24–28ºC (75–82ºF). The dry season brings opal-blue skies, and you’ll rarely feel so much as a raindrop during the first months of the year. Days can be warm and nights cool, but the mercury stays consistent every month of the year.

Some of the most common attractions of the city are Democracy Plaza, Central Park, Spanish Park, Morazan Park, National Park, and The Jade Museum. There are hiking trails, bird-watching spots, and camping sites in the city.

San José has a number of theaters, many with European-inspired architecture. These buildings serve as the city's main tourist attractions, not only because of their architecture, but because of the cultural, musical, and artistic presentations and activities.

San Jose, it is in the center of the country so once in the city, visitors may choose among dozens of one-day tours to the most outstanding natural places, inside and outside of the Central Valley, as well as having access to a great variety of sports adventures and activities for exploring.
